Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Ranks No 1 in the Opening Weekend

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ranks No 1 in the opening weekend and the second-largest opening of 2022.

The film was the No. 1 movie at the box office on its opening weekend, hitting over $181 million domestic debut and earning over $331 million worldwide, making it the second-largest opening weekend of 2022.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is second to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (also a Marvel movie) which had the biggest domestic opening of the year so far earning over $187 million.

Wakanda Forever ranks as the eighth-best domestic opening of a Marvel movie of all time. The film was expected to earn anywhere from $175 million to $200 million domestically in its opening weekend.

Recall that the first Black Panther earned $202 million domestically in its opening weekend. Therefore, Wakanda Forever lagged behind the first Black Panther by 11%.
