Twitter is Set to Launch Account Verification

Twitter is set to launch account verification soon. This will come after Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk announced some weeks back that he will start charging $8 monthly for verified accounts.

The idea by the new Twitter boss to charge $8 monthly for a verified account was heavily criticized by several Twitter users, mainly those with verified accounts. Some questioned the authenticity of verification since one can easily get verified if he or she can afford the verification fee.

However, the new Twitter boss who seems unbothered by the complaints still sticks to the payment policy for verified accounts.

Yesterday, Twitter through the account of the new CEO announced its plan to launch account verification on Friday, December 2, 2022.

He added that there will be different colors for different categories: gold checks for companies, grey checks for the government, and blue checks for individuals (celebrity or not).

He also said that all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before the check activates.
