Nigerian police promotes officer who rejected N864 M bribe – the officer was decorated with the new rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
The officer named, Francis Osagie Erhabor was a former chief superintendent of police.
The officer claimed he once rejected N864 million bribe. In reward, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
According to Igbere TV, he was decorated with his new rank by the state commissioner of police, CP O. A. Durosinmi.
This comes months after he reportedly attempted to resign over non-promotion in January 2022.
Erhabor who joined the force in 1990 said he has only been promoted five times in over 30 years in active service, despite the fact that he never took a bribe.
