Hey everyone, welcome back to Emdamakina’s blog today we’re going to explore 10 different online jobs that you can obtain, even if you’re still in high school or college. These jobs can pay $15 or more per hour, depending on your experience and attention to detail.

For most of the jobs I’ll mention, I recommend using a platform like Upwork. Upwork lets you browse through jobs posted by people actively seeking help with their projects. You can also use Fiverr, but I find that Fiverr is geared more towards people looking for freelancers rather than the other way around. Upwork is easier to get started with and offers better rates.

Data entry

The first job on the list that requires minimal skill level is data entry. Data entry involves various tasks such as transferring PDF documents to Word, entering data into Excel spreadsheets, writing product listings, or transferring products from one online store to another. Typically, you don’t need experience for these tasks, but you do need high attention to detail, especially when working with important financial numbers or product names.

Even with data entry jobs, I suggest starting on Upwork. There’s also Amazon Mechanical Turk, but I find it doesn’t offer quality work and pay. With Upwork, you can set your own rate and charge what you want.

Social Media Manager and marketing

The second job is suitable for most people from their early teens to late 20s and involves being a social media manager. This role includes creating and scheduling posts, deciding which social media channels to focus on, and ensuring that everyone stays on track with the posting schedule.

To apply for a Social Media Manager position online and increase your chances of making money:

1. Gain Necessary Skills and Experience:
– Education: Typically, a bachelor’s degree in a field such as marketing, communications, or business administration is required. Focus on developing communication, design, and analytical skills.
– Experience: Start by managing your own social media accounts and experimenting with different strategies. Offer your services to friends or small businesses free of charge to gain hands-on experience.

2. Build Your Portfolio:
Document Your Work: Showcase your social media management skills by documenting the process of growing your own social media accounts. This will help you create a solid portfolio.
Case Study Format: Present your work in a case study format, demonstrating how your strategies led to successful outcomes.

3. Freelance Platforms and Networking:
Upwork: Create a professional profile on freelance platforms like Upwork. Use successful freelancers as inspiration and make sure your profile is well-written and showcases your skills.
-Networking: Attend events, join relevant social media groups, and collaborate with other freelancers to build a solid network and find potential clients.

4. Pricing and Proposals:
Set Competitive Rates: Use a freelance rate calculator to determine your rates. Ensure your prices are competitive and reflect the value you bring to clients.
Effective Proposals: Craft proposals that highlight your skills and demonstrate how you can help your clients reach their social media goals.

5. Constant Learning and Staying Up-to-Date:
– Stay Current with Platform Changes: Continuously update your knowledge on the latest platform changes and best practices to remain competitive in the industry.
– Online Resources: Utilize online courses and tutorials to enhance your skills and stay informed about the latest trends and tools in social media management.

By following these steps, you can effectively apply for social media manager positions online and increase your earning potential.

Online Freelance Writing

The next job is freelance writing. If you have good writing skills, you can earn more than $15 an hour. This job can be especially beneficial if you have knowledge in a particular niche.

Here are the best online freelance writing job sites, combining information from various sources:

1. Upwork: Known for its sheer volume of job postings, Upwork allows writers to bid on both short-term and long-term projects. While it can be competitive, experienced writers can build a strong reputation on the platform.

2. FlexJobs: A job board that screens and verifies freelance job listings, FlexJobs provides a filtered search for writers to find quality opportunities. It charges a subscription fee for access to job details.

3. Fiverr: Another popular platform, Fiverr allows writers to offer services starting at $5 and build a client base. However, it can be saturated and may not be ideal for ongoing projects.

4. LinkedIn: While primarily a social network, LinkedIn also features job postings and allows writers to connect with potential clients. It is great for networking and personal branding.

5. Freelance Writers Den: A membership site offering extensive resources and job referrals, Freelance Writers Den provides training and community support for freelance writers.

6. SolidGigs: This site curates job postings from around the web and offers rate transparency, making it easier for writers to find suitable opportunities.
